Preschool Age Gymnastics

At Iarov Elite Gymnastics  we are committed to enhancing children’s lives through fitness, self-confidence, discipline and fun. Each of our programs is designed to teach specific skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Parent and Me (TOT)

This is for our gymnasts that are walking to three years old.

Students are accompanied by  their guardian while participating in this class. They will spend 45 minutes focusing on gross-motor skills as they rotate between activities on the bars, balance beam, floor, vault and trampoline with their class.

They learn to hang, swing, roll over the bar, and hold themselves up in front support. They practice walking on the balance beam, doing forward rolls and backward rolls on the cheese mats, and doing cart wheels. they will be crawling through tunnels, jumping in and out of hoops, jumping and climbing over things and supporting their weight on their hands. They work on various jumping skills and turns while practicing jumping with both feet on the trampoline.

our parent and me classes are a great way to work on staying with a class, following a rotation and getting comfortable in the gym, all while having a fun opportunity for bonding time.

 For three-year-olds (PSY)

during this 45-minute, coed gymnastics class begins with a 15-minute warm-up where students learn proper stretching techniques through games, role play, songs, rhymes and basic cardio moves.

The remainder of the class consists of three rotations, or “activity stations.” They spend 10-minutes on trampoline and 10-minutes each on two other events: floor, bars, balance beam, or vault.

students learn to hop, jump, kick, roll, go upside down, support their body weight on their hands , and kick their feet in the air. All tasks help prepare them for higher level gymnastics skills such as cartwheels, handstands and bridges.

On bars they learn to swing, hang in different positions, support themselves in a front-support, go around backward on the bar, and execute a pull-over on the bar

beams are used to teach stationary balance skills, along with walking forward and backward, kicks, jumps and dip walks. Accessories such as foam blocks, bean bags, hoola hoops and cones are used as teaching aids.

Fours and Fives (PSO)

our four and five your old class is also coed but lasts 55 minutes. they start with a 15 minute warm-up which includes some basic cardio moves and stretching. they will then start a series of four rotations that can include vault, bars, beam, floor, tumble track and trampoline.

in each rotation they will work on basic skills while learning how to utilize and control their muscles. we use incline-mats, folding-mats, doughnut-mats, barrels, cheese mats and cartwheel mats, These teaching aids assist students and allow  Coaches to move around and help them along.

students will learn how to roll forwards and backwards, perform cartwheels,  and practice handstands up against a mat,

they will learn to confidently balance while walking forward and backwards on the beam, do kick walks, dip walks, coupes and dismounts.

On bars they practice glide swings and chin up pull overs as well as handwalks across the parallel bars. they will also work on front-support and flipping forwards over the bar.

Vault drills are designed to teach students proper technique in running and jumping on the spring board as well as a variety of jumps off the board onto raised mats.
